Faye was born August 14, 1925 in Dallas, TX, and passed away April 12, 2017 in
Arlington, TX.

Faye graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1941, and attended the
University of Texas in Austin from Sept 1941 until 1944, and was a life-long
Longhorn fan. She also spent two summers attending the University of Mexico with
her roommate, where she was able to improve her Spanish speaking skill and had
many adventures. She completed her Master’s degree and obtained a teaching
degree at TCU. Faye married John Ellis Herd in Dallas on August 22, 1947, and
worked briefly as a language interpreter for an international import/export company
where she was able to utilize her language skills of Portuguese, Spanish, French,
and some Italian. She spent a few years selling Home Decorator’s products in the
1970’s. She also worked along side her husband in the diesel parts industry as an
office manager for many years.

Most importantly, she was a loving Homemaker, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-
Grandmother. Faye dabbled in numerous arts and crafts such as flower arranging
and painting classes, and has left behind a few of her own treasured “works of art.”
She loved museums, and read all she could about the paintings and history of many
artists. She loved the Lord, her Church, and anything chocolate!

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis Herd; father, James Ernest
Periman, Sr.; mother, Lillian Gilmore Periman; brothers, James Ernest Periman, Jr.
and Robert R. “Bobby” Periman. She is survived by her children, Carolynn Elaine
Moore, Randy Michael Herd and wife Deborah, and Ricky Wayne Herd;
