Choosing of The Phoenix

Our choosing of the Phoenix as our logo was both spiritual and symbolic as we give life to, or resurrect old parts from ashes. The phoenix, and all other Phoenix-like creations in mythology and legend, point out man’s desire to transcend his finite existence by choosing a symbol that expresses his hope of rebirth and resurrection. When newspapers were reporting the rebuilding of Conventry Cathedral in England, destroyed by Nazi bombers during the second world war, the expression that the cathedral rose “from the ashes, phoenix like” was often used. Although the analogy might have been overdone in the popular press, the use of the mythical bird again symbolized man’s ever determined spirit.
