Troubleshooting

 

• Is the unit leaking?

  • If so from where?
    • Input Shaft (small shaft)
      • Be sure to check fittings, o-rings, flare fittings and hoses before returning
    • Sector Shaft (pitman arm shaft)
      • Complete warranty sheet and bring gear box into shop for inspection
    • Between gearbox and frame
      • Complete warranty sheet and bring gear box into shop for inspection
    • Other
      • Complete warranty sheet and bring gear box into shop for inspection

 

• Is the unit hard to steer?

  • If yes, in one direction or both?
    • One direction means there is probably air in the system. Click link for instructions on how to properly bleed air from the system.
    • Both directions
      • Every half a turn?
        • Problem in the steering column. Check u-joints and bearings
      • Every quarter of a turn?
        • Problem in the steering column. Check u-joints and bearings
      • Sporadically?
        • Complete warranty sheet and bring gear box into shop for inspection
